Volunteer LEGO Robotics & FLL Class Assistant

Position Summary: Are you passionate about STEM and working with youth? Halton STEM Club is looking for a hands-on Volunteer Assistant to support our FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams. You will play a key role in helping students (ages 9–14) design, build, and code robots while ensuring our classroom remains organized and ready for innovation. This is an excellent opportunity for students looking to complete community hours or anyone interested in robotics education.

What You Will Do: * LEGO Management: Keep Technic kits and mission models organized and properly sorted.

Technical Support: Help students troubleshoot robot builds and guide them through block-based coding (SPIKE Prime/MINDSTORMS).

Mentorship: Support the FLL Core Values by encouraging teamwork and "Gracious Professionalism" among participants.

Classroom Prep: Help set up the FLL competition mat and manage materials for the Innovation Project.

Requirements & Skills: * Minimum Age: 14+ (Great for high school students!)

Background: Interest in robotics, engineering, or coding is preferred.

Traits: Highly organized, patient, and able to take initiative in a fast-paced classroom.

Commitment: Once or Twice a week during the weekday events, or on Saturdays

Clearance: A Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) may be required for volunteers aged 18 and older.
