Marineview Housing Society
Since 1975, Marineview Housing Society has been providing care and housing for people living with and in recovery from a mental illness on the North Shore. We are a registered charity governed by a volunteer board whose members include family members.
We operate four different facilities. Our goal is help individuals integrate back into society through building confidence, skills and community linkages. We support our clients moving toward independent living as their recovery and disability permits. Many of our sites are licensed under the Community Care and Assisted Living Act.
We are a small but mighty Board and following a recent governance review, we are looking to expand our team to include two new Board positions. Of particular interest are individuals with either facility / construction management experience or legal experience. As we expand on the next phase of our strategy we are also interested in individuals with prior fund- raising experience.
Beyond technical skills, we are looking for the passion individuals who can provide new and diverse views to our collaborative Board of Directors.
You don’t have to have worked on a Board before, what is most important is connecting with individuals who are passionate about the Northshore, want to make a positive impact on the support of people living with mental illness and are willing to provide some time to think through challenges and opportunities in a collaborative and supportive way.
If this is of interest, then please reach out to us for a discussion
