Bike the Night: Event First Aid Volunteer

David Lam Park, 1300 Pacific Blvd, Vancouver, BC, V6Z 2Y1 [map]
Bike the Night is HUB Cycling’s biggest celebration of night riding, featuring a 10km group ride along the Vancouver Seawall, starting and ending at David Lam Park. With pre-ride festivities like an E-Bike Showcase, live music, family-friendly activities, and community booths, this event brings together over 800 people of all ages to ride, connect, and celebrate cycling in a safe and vibrant nighttime setting.

We’re seeking trained First Aid Volunteers to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. You’ll provide basic first aid support, assist with minor injuries or incidents, and help promote overall rider well-being. (First Aid or higher certification required).

Volunteers will be assigned to one of two teams:

1) Mobile Bike Team: Ride alongside participants along the 10km route to provide care on the go (bikes can be provided)

2) Celebration Site Team: Stationed at David Lam Park to assist with any on-site medical needs

This is a great opportunity to use your skills in a community-focused, high-energy setting while supporting safer cycling in Metro Vancouver.
Additional Details & Skills Required
For the Bike Medical Team, we can provide a bike safety training, a bike, and relevant gear for the duration of the event.
Certification or Education Required
You need to have a valid First Aid certification or a higher credential for this role.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Volunteering at Bike the Night is a chance to be part of one of Metro Vancouver’s most exciting and community-driven cycling events! Volunteers will receive snacks and refreshments during the event, a thank-you gift, and confirmation of volunteer hours. We’re also happy to provide reference letters upon request as a token of our appreciation for your time and energy!
