The South East Alberta Watershed Alliance (SEAWA) is one of the eleven Watershed Planning and Advisory Councils (WPACs) in Alberta. SEAWA is a multi-stakeholder, volunteer-based, not-for-profit society, incorporated in 2008 and designated as a WPAC by the Government of Alberta in 2010.

We work in partnership with the government of Alberta to achieve the goals laid out in the Water for Life strategy: Healthy aquatic ecosystems; Reliable, quality water supplies for a sustainable economy; and safe, secure drinking water.

SEAWA is a volunteer-based organization. The governing board and its committees are all composed of volunteers who live, work, and play within the watershed. Members are encouraged to run for a board seat or lend their expertise to a committee. We also need volunteers to participate in shoreline cleanups and weed pulls, help with plant maintenance at our riparian restoration sites, write newsletters and social media posts, prepare educational materials and displays, help with GIS mapping, write project proposals and grant applications, and participate in many other activities that support the sustainable use of the SEAWA watershed.
