Mission: A community strategy that creates and provides support for seniors “at risk” for abuse.

Awareness
We believe in raising awareness through research and acting on issues affecting seniors
We believe in creating awareness by educating the public on definitions of elder abuse and appropriate response
Coordination
Open communication between services in community with one point of contact in the community, the plan and defined pathways
Inclusion
We believe in inclusion; therefore, we will provide compassionate care and opportunities for connecting seniors with community
Sustainability
Ensuring engagement of community through awareness, funding, and volunteer opportunities which creates safety and inclusion for all seniors
Responsibilities and Opportunities
To Develop collaborative strategies that prevent elder abuse through a proactive and sustainable approach;
To Establish a long-range coordinated service plan between agencies that includes pathways for all six types of elder abuse;
To Develop a communication strategy to assist with the awareness of the community at large;
To Lead and Advocate for appropriate supports for the prevention and elder abuse;
To Promote and Expand existing education and awareness activities;
To Access funding to provide the resources necessary to carry out the activities of this Coordinated Community Response;
To Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies, services and awareness activities of the LEAP Committee to decrease the number of elder abuse cases in Lloydminster and surrounding area.
