The Community Services Advisory Committee assists the City of Lloydminster in making informed decisions on the appropriate allocation of over half a million dollars in local non-profit sector investment. These grants include, but may not be limited to: 1) The Family and Community Support Services Grant. 2) The Saskatchewan Lotteries Community Grant. 3) The Safe and Healthy Communities Grant. The role of the Community Services Advisory Committee is to provide recommendations on grant funding allocations to Council and to advise the City on matters of social policy or programs. Duties include: 1) Reviewing grant application packages prepared by the Social Programs and Services Department. 2) Attending grant allocation meetings. 3) Meeting with community organizations at the request of the Committee Chair. 4) Supporting Social Programs and Services initiatives. The Committee meets three to five times per year to discuss grant requests and make recommendations. The meetings themselves are typically 3 hours in length. Preparation for meetings varies from 5 hours to 20 hours, depending on the grant being allocated. Members are appointed by Council for two-year terms. Members may serve successive terms but no more than 5 consecutive terms. The committee welcomes members from diverse backgrounds and with lived experience. Applications will be reviewed by the committee and selected for an interview. Successful applicants will be appointed by Council at a public meeting. This call for applications will be open until July 31, 2026.

Meetings are not on a set schedule but typically occur at 5:30 pm on a Tuesday Members must have their own transportation to the meeting site. Members will be subject to relevant City Policies Members will be subject to the Conflict of Interest in Grant Allocations clause in Bylaw No. 13-2020 Applicants will be sent an online survey in lieu of a resume.
