
YWCA Lethbridge District

YWCA Lethbridge & District has been serving Lethbridge and the surrounding communities since 1949. The organization supports the enhancement of women’s lives and the communities they live in with 30+ programs and services that fall under one of five areas of focus:
Domestic & Sexual Violence - which includes YWCA Harbour House Women’s Emergency Shelter and YWCA Amethyst Project, which provides an important third option for victims of sexual violence.
Trauma & Crisis Prevention/Intervention - including Safe Visitation and Project Child Recovery, a support group for children ages 6-17 who have witnessed violence.
Poverty, Housing & Homelessness - which covers support for women transitioning out of Harbour House and Hestia Homes, a program that teaches independent living skills for youth ages 19-24 who are (or are at risk of becoming) homeless.
Leadership & Empowerment - including GirlSpace, youth conferences, and the Young Women’s Leadership Council.
Advocacy & Awareness- the voice for the social and economic well-being of women with government, the media and the community at large.
