DIRECTOR TREASURER The Lake Country Art Gallery is seeking a Director Treasurer to oversee and support the Art Gallery’s financial objectives. Serving as a Director is a rewarding experience and a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and to contribute to the arts culture of Lake Country! The Organization: The Lake Country Public Art Gallery was established in 2010 and operates as a not-for-profit and charitable institution. We are dedicated to serving the community of Lake Country and beyond by providing excellent exhibitions and engaging programs for a range of audiences and interests. The Board of Directors meets monthly to govern and oversee the operations of the Lake Country Art Gallery. The Director Treasurer is a key member of the Board. The Director Treasurer’s Role: • To serve as a member of a collegial and effective team of staff and volunteers that is committed to supporting artists and engaging the public in meaningful arts experiences. • To work closely with our bookkeeper/ accountant to ensure clear and timely communication between accounting functions and the Board of Directors. • Support the Executive Director with annual budgets and annual AGM budget presentations. • To participate fully in Board decision making. • To participate in professional development events. Qualifications: • Previous experience as a Director of Treasury or similar role. • Strong analytical skills and accounting knowledge. • Excellent organizational skills regarding documentation and file or record-keeping. • An understanding of our community and a passion for our cause. • An awareness of not-for-profit organizations. • Willingness to work collaboratively within a team.
