Join the Founding Board of The KOLA Fund: Integrated Support for Families & Youth
Ongoing
Join the Founding Board of The KOLA Fund: Integrated Support for Neurodivergent Families & Youth We are seeking founding board members to help build The KOLA Fund — a nonprofit organization advancing holistic, community-rooted solutions for neurodivergent youth and their families. The KOLA Fund supports children who are often underserved by conventional systems — not only through education, but through the ecosystems that surround them. Our work includes: Operating KOLA Outdoor Learning Academy, an inclusive, nature-based academic program where high-support learners thrive in curiosity-led learning Developing family-centered technology tools that reduce conflict in custody and support planning, and help families navigate trauma, advocacy, and neurodivergence with dignity Partnering with educators, clinicians, and legal advocates to design safer, more integrated supports for children in transition We’re currently inviting 2–3 aligned individuals to join our Founding Board of Directors (Federal nonprofit), bringing strengths in areas such as: Nonprofit governance and leadership Education, family systems, or youth programming Legal or family law Technology or platform development Trauma-informed care Fundraising, grants, or social innovation Commitment: Light and flexible. We meet quarterly (virtually), offer guidance on key decisions, and support mission-aligned growth. Founding board members will help shape the vision — without day-to-day obligations. 💡 Why Join? You’ll be helping build a new kind of infrastructure for neurodivergent children and the families who support them — one rooted in dignity, care, and real-world solutions. Together, we’re designing tools and environments that make safety, learning, and healing more accessible. If you’re values-aligned and want to co-create systems that truly work for kids and families, we’d love to hear from you. 👉 To express interest, email Emily Grace at info@learnwithkola.ca with a short note about your background and why this resonates.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Board members will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit governance, social innovation, and trauma-informed systems change. You'll build your leadership capacity, expand your network in education, tech, and advocacy, and directly contribute to a bold new model of family support — all while shaping a mission that matters.
