Help with chores for our horses and small animals
SPARK is a registered charity that facilitates healing and wholeness through guided therapeutic encounters with horses. We have 8 beautiful horses, 3 goats, 2 bunnies, and 2 cats. We are a growing, community based organization that regularly needs volunteers to help with day to day chores (e.g., feeding animals, scooping horse poop, and cleaning out our goat and bunny pens). Shifts include morning chores (weekday mornings from 8:00am-10:00am), afternoon poop scooping, and evening chores. We facilitate a training day for new volunteers (one Saturday per month) and from there determine where volunteers will fit in best! Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs, work independently, feel comfortable around horses, and commit to a weekly shift for a minimum of 3 months. Once volunteers have completed 3 months of a weekly shift, other opportunities, such as helping with horse assisted therapy sessions may become available.
Additional Details & Skills Required
There will be training involved.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Our volunteers will grow in their love for horses/animals, their love for the outdoors, and enjoy being part of a team (or as we like to say, part of our herd).
