SPARK is a registered charity that facilitates healing and wholeness through guided therapeutic encounters with horses. We have 8 beautiful horses, 3 goats, 2 bunnies, and 2 cats. We are a growing, community based organization that regularly needs volunteers to help with day to day chores and farm tasks (e.g., feeding animals, scooping horse poop, cleaning out our goat and bunny pens, and general farm maintenance).
Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs, work independently, feel comfortable around horses, and commit to a weekly shift for a minimum of 3 months. Once volunteers have completed 3 months, other opportunities, such as helping with horse assisted therapy sessions, may become available.
We facilitate an orientation day for new volunteers on the last Saturday of every month, during which we discuss current shifts and needs, and from there determine where volunteers will fit in best!
Additional Details & Skills Required
There will be training involved.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Our volunteers will grow in their love for horses/animals, their love for the outdoors, and enjoy being part of a team (or as we like to say, part of a herd).
