About the Produce Rescue (PR) Coordinator role:
The PR Coordinator will work to help support programming at the Okanagan Fruit Tree Project. They will be primarily supporting our Produce Rescue Program but will lend a hand with our Community Farming program as needed. This is a fun, dynamic, varied, and fast-paced position that is suitable for people who are energetic, love to take initiative & learn new skills, and enjoy a varied workplace where they get to engage in lots of different activities. This position includes minimal desk/computer work (entering data, coordination with harvest coordinator) and lots of field work, harvesting fruit, delivering produce, taking photos). The job includes aspects of volunteer coordination, coordination planning, troubleshooting, communications, and lots of miscellaneous tasks. The coordinator will work alone during some parts of the job and as part of a team during other parts of the job. This job also involves driving a big delivery van (GMC Savana) and commuting to and from work in your own vehicle. The PR Coordinator will be trained and supported by OFTP senior staff in a collaborative way that also supports their personal career or educational goals.

Necessary Qualifications:
●	Previous work experience in a leadership role
●	Ideally, knowledge about fruit trees and harvesting fruit
●	A valid driver’s license
●	Ability to drive (or learn to drive) our large van 
●	Access to your own vehicle 
●	A smart phone with a good camera, data plan, and a computer/laptop
●	Well-developed computer skills, including typing, emails, and web navigation
●	Proficiency in navigating a range of digital platforms, such as Gmail, Google Drive (Google Docs & Google Sheets), Whatsapp
●	Excellent organizational skills and neatness, including the use of personal calendars or other planning tools
●	Ability to adjust to new situations quickly
●	Ability to prioritize time efficiently when assigned multiple tasks at the same time
●	Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
●	The ability to respond quickly to incoming communications 
●	An interest in improving food access and local food systems
●	An interest in building community
●	A positive, team-player attitude
●	A willingness to learn new skills
●	A willingness to get your hands dirty (literally)
●	Can work under a moderate to high amount of pressure
●	Can be assertive (but kind) and decisive when needed
●	Physical fitness and an ability to undertake physical activities in all weather conditions (ability to lift up to 50lbs, ability to work in the summer heat, ability to work in proximity to potential allergens, wildlife, and other animals: bees, wasps, mosquitoes, dogs, rodents, pollen)
