Dress for Success Kelowna is on a mission to empower women and non-binary individuals toward economic independence. Since 2019, we’ve supported over 1,400 individuals in the Okanagan, offering professional attire, a network of support, and tools for success in work and life.

We are currently recruiting a passionate, experienced leader to join our Board of Directors in the role of Treasurer. Your insight and stewardship will help advance our mission of empowering women toward financial stability and career success. If you’re ready to make a meaningful impact, we want to hear from you!

We are seeking a CPA who:
-Has prior board experience 
-Has time and energy to commit to this amazing organization
-Shares our values of dignity, trust, innovation, and empowerment

The Board is responsible for:
-Actively participating in the overall strategic planning process and assisting in the implementation and monitoring of the plan’s goals.
-Enhancing the organization’s public standing by clearly articulating and supporting the organization’s mission, accomplishments, and goals to the public and garnering support from the community.
-Protecting the assets of the organization and providing proper financial oversight through the approval and monitoring of the annual budget and by ensuring that proper financial controls are in place.
-Ensuring adequate financial resources through fundraising and resource development.
-Ensuring the legal and ethical integrity of the organization by monitoring adherence to legal standards and ethical norms.
-Assessing and addressing risks to the organization and ensuring timely and proper responses.

As Treasurer, you will:
-Assist with strategic planning concerning the Society’s financial viability, sustainability, risk management, financial reserves, and investment 
-Assist with the development and presentation of the Society’s annual budget
-Have prepared, review, and present financial statements
-Ensure the Society is kept in good standing with Canada Revenue Agency (“CRA”), including compliance with CRA rules and by ensuring availability of documents necessary to meet CRA reporting expectations
-Ensure the Society maintains proper financial processes, procedures, and record-keeping generally
-Ensure accurate and timely filing of the Society’s T3010, payroll remittances, and other government filings;  
-Attend and engage in all board meetings including the Annual General Meeting
-Chair the Finance committee and attend and engage in committee meetings as required
