Canadian Ski Patrol - Ogopogo Zone

Canadian Ski Patrol is a volunteer ski patrol society. We operate primarily at Big White Ski Resort. Our volunteers are certified in advanced first aid each fall, beginning in early September. Members with equivalent first aid training (ie OFA 3) may attempt to challenge our first aid course.

Onhill training to learn the daily duties required to patrol occurs over the first two weekends in December (snow permitting).

Volunteers commit to completing 10 regular shifts and 2 night shifts per year. Shifts include all daily risk management tasks from opening ski runs, marking hazards and maintaining safety equipment to sweeping the mountain at day’s end.

We also reapond to calls for first aid, assessing, treating, transporting and monitoring patients until they are handed off to a higher level of care.
