Royal Hamilton Yacht Club

RHYC Able Sail is a hands-on, on-the-water volunteer program that empowers individuals of all abilities to experience the freedom and joy of sailing. Hosted at the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club and the Greater Hamilton Community Sailing School (both nonprofit organizations), Able Sail runs throughout the summer sailing season, and pairs participants with trained volunteers and certified sailing instructors to create safe, inclusive, and unforgettable experiences on the water.

Volunteers play a key role: helping participants board boats, providing encouragement, assisting with adaptive equipment, and even sailing alongside them. No prior sailing experience is required, just a willingness to learn, connect, and make a difference!

Able Sail is a truly unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships, gain real-world experience working with people of varying abilities, and be part of a supportive, community-driven team, while spending your summer on the water!
