Volunteers needed for free FUN carnival for kids

Volunteers are needed as booth attendants for a FREE community event that teaches EDI (Equity, diversity & inclusion) to children through fun carnival games. Volunteer alone or with friends to either occupy a booth for which we already have games, activities and posters, or volunteers can create their own booth and games (to be a section leader for their own specific type of diversity). Gage Park outdoor venue: Set-up of canopy tents, table and chairs is less than 1 hour, the carnival is 3 hours and the tear down is about 30 minutes. Those who create their own booth and games, or who help fundraise - may be able to claim up to 15 hours. Volunteers will collaborate with youth from diverse groups to create a healthy inclusive learning event for families.  All games and supplies will be provided for those who just want to show up to help out on carnival day.

Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Experience in promoting EDI, communicating with families and networking with diverse community groups. Volunteers can take on leadership roles and create their own booth, signage, and games. Volunteers will gain communication skills and teaching skills.  Helping kids learn through games is also rewarding.  High school students can get community service hours.  Letters of reference can be requested if the volunteer creates their own booth or if they help fundraise.
