CityKidz is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as Welcome Team Volunteers. Welcome Team Volunteers play a key role in creating a positive first impression and supporting the CityKidz volunteer community, and in helping to set the tone for the day by offering guidance, encouragement, and care, ensuring all volunteers feel informed, valued, and equipped to serve effectively. 

As a Welcome Team Volunteer, the first point of contact for volunteers as they arrive on a Saturday at CityKidz, and you will be responsible for welcoming volunteers, and assisting them in getting to their designated areas. It is essential in this role to have a friendly and engaging personality, as you will be providing hospitality to each of our volunteers.

Responsibilities:  
- Greet and sign in volunteers using the check-in/check-out system 
- Ensure paper copies of attendance are filled out as volunteers arrive 
- Welcome new volunteers for their first shift, providing them with a welcome package, name tag, and all additional information needed for the day 
- Ensure new volunteers know where to go for their shift by guiding them to their team and introducing them to other team members 
- Conduct phone calls to scheduled volunteers who do not arrive for their shift 
- Relay important information to the appropriate staff member(s) 
- Occasionally check in on guests expected for the day 
- Keep refreshments on the hospitality table fresh and fully stocked

Skills & Qualifications:  
- Minimum age 16+ (required) 
- Proficiency in reading (required) 
- Experience working in administration (preferred) 
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
- Alert, with great judgment and ability to take initiative 
- Customer service and organizational skills 
- Familiarity with CityKidz and its different spaces throughout the building OR willingness to familiarize oneself with them 
- Effective communication skills to engage and support volunteers and staff members, providing clear instructions and conveying empathy and care

Training & Support: 
- On-the-job training will be provided on your first shift 
- You will be paired with experienced Welcome Team volunteers to help guide you and integrate you into our community 

Time Commitment:  
- Time Commitment: Minimum four (4) month commitment is required, for at least 1x a month but preferably biweekly Saturdays through March – June and September- December 
- Shifts: 7:00am-9:00am or 10:30am-12:30pm 

Work Environment & Additional Details: 
- Environment: warm-hearted, at the entrance table greeting volunteers, directly in the action!
