Tutor Recruiter

About the Role
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and friendly Volunteer Tutor Recruiter to help us grow our tutor team. You’ll work in a team led by the Director of Recruitment, playing an important role in identifying, screening, and onboarding volunteers who can support our free tutoring programs. By helping us build a reliable and diverse tutor base, you’ll directly contribute to making academic support more accessible to students across Halifax, including newcomers, BIPOC, low-income, and rural communities.

Key Responsibilities
Applicant Screening: Review incoming tutor applications, schedule and conduct introductory screening interviews, and help assess candidates’ suitability for our program. 

Onboarding Support: Assist in welcoming new tutors and guiding them through the onboarding process.

Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Recruitment, Website Manager, and Program Coordinator to align recruitment with program needs and goals.

What We’re Looking For
Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills
Comfortable speaking with new people and conducting short calls
Organized and able to manage simple tasks independently
Interest in education or community work
Experience with recruitment or onboarding is a bonus, but not required
