About the Role As Co-Director of Outreach and Events, you’ll play a crucial role in expanding The Halifax Helpers’ presence in the community. This role involves developing relationships with local organizations, coordinating outreach initiatives and events, and raising awareness about our free tutoring services. You’ll work alongside our team to ensure our mission reaches students and families who can benefit from our support. This role is perfect for someone passionate about community engagement and educational equity. Key Responsibilities Community Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, schools, and community groups to spread awareness of our programs. Represent THH and attend local networking events or volunteer fairs hosted by community organizations to raise awareness about our work. Outreach Strategy: Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase our visibility and reach more students, particularly those from low income, rural, BIPOC and newcomer communities. Collect feedback from the community to improve outreach efforts and better understand their needs. Event Coordination: Assist in planning and promoting outreach and fundraising events that align with our mission. Send regular outreach emails (20+ per month) to other organizations or schools and follow up to foster collaboration. Track outreach activities and document results, providing regular updates to the Executive Director. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, particularly the Marketing team, to ensure outreach efforts are aligned with overall organizational goals. You may also lead an Outreach and Events team of volunteers who can support event planning and event coordination.
