Fundraising and Event Volunteer

Friends of the Fort St. John Public Library need volunteers to help raise funds for, and awareness of, their organization and the Fort St. John Public Library. 

Responsibilities include:

1. Promoting the Friends of the Library's mission, vision and impact.
2. Promoting the Library’s services, resources and impact.
3. Helping with event setup and cleanup.
4. Selling lottery tickets in person (only for volunteers 19 and older). 
5. Collecting payments and monetary donations.
6. Collecting and capturing data. 
7. Assisting with other fundraising and event activities as needed.

Requirements include: 
 
1. Strong communication skills.
2. Strong interpersonal skills.
3. Good organizational skills.
4. Good time management skills. 
5. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Able to get around Fort St. John using private or public transport. 

Useful but optional:

1.  Fundraising or grant writing experience.
2. Event planning or decorating experience.
3. Customer service or sales experience.
4. Public speaking experience.
5. Marketing or advertising experience.
6. Graphic design or photography experience.
7. Audiovisual engineering experience.
