Volunteer Opportunity

Welcome Host:
As a Welcome Host you will serve as the 'face up front" that makes that all important first
impression on youth. You will be challenged to use your positive interpersonal skills to help new
youth register and feel comfortable coming in, as well as being that person they love to see first
when they come back. Your personality will make a huge impression on our youth.

Responsibilities:
Be the first point of contact for every youth who walks into the drop-in space. Check in every youth through our digital attendance system and help new youth through their first-time registration.
Provide basic information about the program to new youth.
Be a friendly, welcoming presence.
Help new youth feel accepted by connecting them with another member of the leadership team or other youth in the space.
Commitment to try to learn the names of the youth.
Stay after the program to clean up and debrief with the rest of the leadership team.

Time Commitment:
Drop-ins run from 3:30-6 pm every day after school across the city. We would love you to be at as many as you are comfortable with. Our preference would be at least one day a week, but this is negotiable.
1 hour, 3x per year for support/check-ins with the team lead.
2 hours, 2x per year for training/appreciation.

As a relationally-focused program, you and your presence matter. Youth are looking for role models and stable, consistent adults to support them. So, if you want to take on a volunteer role with us, commitment is important. Relationships are built on stability.
