Through exhibitions, education, advocacy, and community engagement, we strive to increase the visibility and recognition of women artists across Canada.

We are looking for a creative and motivated Volunteer Website Manager to help transform our existing WordPress website into a modern, engaging, and professional digital presence that reflects our mission and inspires our community.

This volunteer will lead the refresh and ongoing management of our WordPress website. While the Society already has a functioning website, we are seeking someone to improve its design, user experience, content organization, and overall visual appeal.

The ideal volunteer enjoys combining creativity with technical skills and understands how a well-designed website can strengthen an organization's visibility, credibility, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
- Review the current WordPress website and recommend improvements.
- Redesign or refresh the website to create a modern, professional, and engaging user experience.
- Improve site navigation, layout, and overall functionality.
- Update existing content and assist with organizing new content.
- Optimize website performance, responsiveness, and accessibility.
- Ensure the website is mobile-friendly.
- Implement basic SEO best practices to improve online visibility.
- Add or update images, galleries, event pages, and news or blog content.
- Maintain website security, plugins, themes, and backups.
- Collaborate with board members to ensure the website reflects the Society's goals and activities.
- Provide occasional guidance on website best practices and future enhancements.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
By joining the Women's Art Museum Society of Canada, you will:
Gain hands-on experience leading a live WordPress website redesign for a nonprofit organization. Build your portfolio, strengthen your web design and digital communications skills, expand your professional network, receive a reference upon successful completion, and make a meaningful impact by helping promote women in the arts across Canada.
