Recruiting for Board of Directors

Edmonton [map]
Ongoing
WECAN Food Basket Society of Alberta is recruiting applicants for its board of directors!

WECAN provides opportunities for members to purchase affordable and healthy food baskets which are picked up monthly at volunteer run community depots throughout Edmonton and surrounding communities.

If you have an interest in food access and a skillset in board governance, human resources, grant writing, sponsorship, financial literacy, and/or food distribution, please contact boardchair@wecanfood.com to indicate your interest. Board activities are anticipated to take about ten hours per month.

We are looking to connect with volunteers who want to make a difference in your community through contributing to the governance and activities of a volunteer based, community focused organization. We welcome applications from individuals with a variety of backgrounds and experiences to reflect the diversity in our communities.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Volunteering at WECAN connects you with people who have a shared interest in community and food access. Board membership gives you the opportunity to develop skills in board governance, financial oversight, policy development, fundraising, and many other skills. Most of all, your time will be spent to ensure the ongoing ability of WECAN to make a difference in your local community!
