Who We Are:
VETS Canada is a non-profit charity that supports Canadian veterans in crisis, founded in 2010 by Jim and Debbie Lowther. Jim, a veteran, realized how many vets were slipping through the cracks and began a grassroots movement in Halifax, NS, that has now spread across the country. We have evolved into a non-profit/registered charity with three drop-in locations, that has served close to 5000 veterans. No two VETS Canada clients are the same, and we have the ability to meet people where they are and provide support as needed. We are able to support veterans suffering from homelessness find temporary and permanent housing, prevent homelessness through mortgage and bill relief, and assist with an array of other crisis situations.
