About Our Organization Young Minds Eye (YME) is a not‑for‑profit organization dedicated to supporting children and youth from newcomer, immigrant, and culturally diverse communities. We began as a student group, Help Young Minds, at the University of Alberta and have since expanded our programs across Alberta and British Columbia. Our mission is to provide accessible educational support and create opportunities that empower young people to thrive. As a volunteer‑run organization, we value collaboration, compassion, and community impact. Our team works together to strengthen each program and ensure we are meeting the needs of the youth and families we serve. About This Position We are seeking motivated individuals who are passionate about empowering youth and fostering community engagement. In this role, you will: => Create fun and engaging presentations and materials (posters, slides, handouts) that help children and youth learn about YME’s programs in an exciting and accessible way. => Build positive relationships with youth‑serving organizations across the province to help more young people discover and join YME’s programs. => Work closely with the Director of Outreach to plan and run community activities that bring YME closer to local youth and families. => Reach out to schools, organizations, and families to understand what young people need and connect underrepresented youth with programs that support their growth. => Check in on youth participation and engagement to see what’s working well and where we can improve, making YME’s programs even more helpful and inclusive. The role itself can involve both in-person and/or remote activities, mainly in Alberta and British Columbia, with the possibility of extension to other provinces as well.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
