About Our Organization Young Minds Eye (YME) is a not‑for‑profit organization dedicated to supporting children and youth from newcomer, immigrant, and culturally diverse communities. We began as a student group, Help Young Minds, at the University of Alberta and have since expanded our programs across Alberta and British Columbia. Our mission is to provide accessible educational support and create opportunities that empower young people to thrive. As a volunteer‑run organization, we value collaboration, compassion, and community impact. Our team works together to strengthen each program and ensure we are meeting the needs of the youth and families we serve. About This Position We are seeking motivated individuals who are passionate about empowering youth and fostering community engagement. In this role, you will: => Create engaging presentations and promotional materials (posters, slides, handouts) to introduce YME’s programs to children and youth. => Build and maintain connections with youth‑serving organizations across the designated province to expand YME’s community presence. => Collaborate with the Director of Outreach to plan and implement outreach initiatives that strengthen relationships with local communities. => Research and actively reach out to organizations and families to understand community needs and connect underrepresented youth with appropriate programs. => Evaluate youth engagement and participation to identify gaps, barriers, and opportunities for improving YME’s programs. The role itself can involve both in-person and/or remote activities, mainly in Alberta and British Columbia, with the possibility of extension to other provinces as well.
