The Ark Project

The Ark Project, a division of the Valley Zoo Development Society, is committed to raising awareness and increasing the participation of young adults in events and philanthropic activities of the Edmonton Valley Zoo. The committee is primarily composed of young adults (18-30) in Edmonton who all share a passion for animals and support for the Edmonton Valley Zoo. All funds raised will support the zoo's ongoing progressive revitalization.

The Ark Project has the opportunity to host a variety of events, all in support of the revitalization efforts. By joining the Ark Project committee, you will work with like-minded individuals to organize and run 18+ events throughout the year. Past events include ZooBrew, Animal Attraction, and various paint nights.

Prospective members must meet the following criteria:
-Must be a young adult looking to expand their experience in events and the non-profit sector
-Positive and Outgoing
-Have some volunteer experience
-Well-rounded with something to offer the team
-Be able to work alone to seek sponsors, volunteers, and organizations to be a part of our events
-Be able to work well with large groups and smaller groups in the planning of events
-Be able to problem solve under stressful situations in times of events
-Should be able to leverage existing social networks and use them to help with ARK events
