Strathcona Place Society is looking for friendly, reliable, and community-minded volunteers to join our team!

We are a welcoming community organization that provides programs, activities, services, and opportunities for seniors to connect, stay active, learn, and build relationships. Our volunteers play an important role in creating a warm and supportive environment for our members.

Whether you are a student looking for volunteer experience, a senior who wants to stay involved, or simply someone who enjoys helping others, we would love to hear from you!

Current Volunteer Opportunities:

Front Desk Reception Volunteer
Help create a welcoming first impression for our members and visitors.

Volunteers may:
Welcome and greet members and visitors
Answer basic questions and provide information
Help with phone calls and general inquiries
Assist with administrative tasks
Direct visitors to programs, activities, and staff
Help keep the reception area organized

Great for: People who enjoy meeting others, communicating, and providing friendly customer service.

Program Creation & Planning Volunteer
Help us develop new and engaging programs and activities for our community.

Volunteers may:
Brainstorm ideas for new programs and activities
Research topics and activities that may interest seniors
Help plan and organize program ideas
Assist with preparing program materials
Share ideas based on personal interests, skills, or experience

Great for: Creative and organized individuals who enjoy planning, researching, and coming up with new ideas.

Program Support Volunteer
Help with the programs and activities that take place at Strathcona Place Society.

Volunteers may:
Assist with setting up and preparing program spaces
Welcome and support program participants
Help instructors or program leaders
Assist participants during activities
Help with clean-up after programs
Provide general support to help programs run smoothly

Great for: People who enjoy working with others and being part of an active community environment.
