Position Title: Volunteer Copywriter Reports To: Communications Director Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and creative Volunteer Copywriter to craft compelling written content for our community league’s communications. This role involves creating engaging material for newsletters, social media, event promotions, website updates, and other community-focused publications. If you have a passion for writing and storytelling, this is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to your community while building your portfolio. This is a volunteer position with a time commitment of approximately 4–8 hours per month. Key Responsibilities: Content Creation: Write clear, engaging, and professional copy for various mediums, including newsletters, social media posts, website updates, and press releases. Storytelling: Highlight community achievements, events, and initiatives through engaging narratives. Event Promotion: Develop promotional content to drive attendance and participation at community events. Collaboration: Work closely with the Communications Director and other team members to ensure messaging aligns with the league’s goals and voice. Editing and Proofreading: Review and refine content to ensure it is polished and error-free. Time Commitment: Approximately 4–8 hours per month, depending on content needs and project deadlines. Flexible schedule with deadlines communicated in advance. Qualifications: Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Ability to adapt tone and style to fit various audiences and platforms. Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and community engagement. Reliable and able to meet deadlines. Experience in content creation or copywriting is an asset but not required. Ideal for university students or aspiring writers looking to expand their portfolio.
