Sport Central

Sport Central Association is an Alberta based Charity that was founded in 1991. We receive, repair, and redistribute gently used sports equipment to kids, ages 4-17, who may not otherwise have access or opportunity.

We are committed to keeping equipment out of the landfills by repairing whatever we can and recycling materials we cannot. We serve kids from Red Deer up to the northern border of Alberta, and collect equipment for over 20 different sports and recreational activities.

We have 46 equipment donation locations (and growing) in the Greater Edmonton Area.

In addition to the youth we serve through our front door, we have a community outreach program which sends bulk shipments of equipment, locally and regionally, to communities, community leagues, and schools to help build sports related programming.

We have an equipment exchange program: as kids outgrow their equipment, they can bring it back in and exchange for the next size.

Last year’s Impact at Sport Central (2023):
- 48% increase in our services over the previous year.
- 10,534 pieces of equipment provided to youth.
- 2,142 pieces of equipment repaired.
- 2,293 pairs of skates sharpened.
- 1,956 helmets repaired.
