The Opportunity 
Sage Edmonton has opportunities for new Board directors to join us as we enhance the quality of life of older persons and their families.   We promote socialization, enhance safety and well-being of vulnerable persons, and provide information – as well as research and advocate on issues affecting older persons. Our mission is to inspire and support seniors to be the best that they can be.

The Organization
Sage Edmonton is a long-standing, seniors-serving, not-for-profit organization based in Edmonton.  We offer social services, supports and programs to thousands of seniors, assisting them to participate as active members of the community, able to live according to their beliefs, abilities and aspirations. The Board
Sage’s Board of Directors is a governance board of volunteers from several sectors of the community. The Board guides strategy development which supports staff and management as they carry out operations. Directors exhibit personal integrity, credibility and a passion for improving the lives of seniors - helping them maximize their contributions to the community.

The Role
We are seeking individuals with diverse backgrounds and community experience in finance, law, seniors’ health, communications, marketing, fundraising, government relations, human resources, research and advocacy, or the non-profit sector. Prior board experience is an asset and candidates must be able to provide a Police Information Check.

This is a volunteer position involving several hours per month. Board members are elected for two-year terms, with a maximum of six years in total service. Board meetings are held five times per year. Some committee work may be required.
