Project Joy

Project Joy started when our founder, Emily, called a Spruce Grove seniors care centre in April 2020 to see what she and her children could do to help during the Covid-19 crisis. She could only imagine how isolated and alone these seniors were feeling. When Emily connected with the recreational therapist and discovered that the residents were not allowed visitors it sparked an idea to help seniors connect with their loved ones virtually by running donation drives to collect gently used devices.

Since last spring, our initiative has gone on to support 37 care centres across Alberta with nearly 300 devices deployed.

There are still unmet needs in this area and we continue our work in collecting gently used devices and fundraising.

Volunteers work virtually and are located all across Alberta!
