BOARD OF DIRECTOR Director-at-Large Volunteer Position

4-5 hours / monthly
2 Year Term
A Director‑at‑Large provides broad organizational support by contributing to strategic discussions, offering guidance across committees, and representing community interests. This role supports overall governance, helps strengthen partnerships, and ensures the organization’s mission and values are reflected in decision‑making.
Additional Details & Skills Required
Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Training — Ensures inclusive decision‑making and community‑aligned governance.
Conflict Resolution or Mediation Training — Helps with constructive dialogue and board cohesion.
Basic Financial Literacy — Supports understanding of budgets, financial statements, and organizational sustainability.
Certification or Education Required
Nonprofit Governance Training — Provides essential understanding of board responsibilities, fiduciary duties, ethical decision‑making, and strategic oversight.
Leadership or Board Development Courses — Strengthens skills in strategic thinking, collaboration, policy review, and organizational direction.
Communications & Community Engagement Training — Supports effective representation of the organization, public communication, and stakeholder relationship‑building.
