KARA Family Resource Centre

In 1984, KARA Family Resource Centre was formed by a group of representatives from 16 community organizations seeking a way for community members to provide positive support and resources for families. KARA effectively opened its doors on January 1st, 1985, and has been offering parenting programs, services, and support to families ever since.
KARA provides support and guidance to families wishing to improve their family life. Through our workshops and courses, families learn about choices, how their choices affect their children, and how their children can make positive choices.
Our programs encompass family bonding and growth. We encourage parents to enhance their self-esteem through role modeling and hands-on opportunities as we view these programs as a chance to empower the family as a whole.
KARA is currently comprised of two sites. Both sites offer parenting education, early childhood services, information, referral, and family support programs at no cost to families.
KARA is an acronym that stands for: Kids Are the Responsibility of All
