iHuman Youth Society, an Edmonton based Not-for Profit organization was born following the creation of an iconic piece entitled The Art of Peacemaking: The Gun Sculpture by its founders, Sandra Bromley and Wallis Kendal.  That was in 1977, and since then, iHuman Youth Society, has grown into an organization providing services to and empowering at-risk youth through art, collaboration, community support and mentorship.

iHuman Youth Society believes all young people have gifts to share. In partnership with marginalized young people, we amplify their creative expression, address their needs, and support goals that privilege their voices.
Vision
Our vision ensures that every marginalized young person feels welcomed, connected, and valued. Without their wisdom and creativity, our future is less vibrant. Our goal is to support our youth in every way possible.
The Society is guided by a committed Board of Directors who share their expertise in ensuring the smooth functioning of our organization.
Currently we have a vacancy on the Board for a Treasurer.
The successful candidate will be:
	Well versed in financial principles and budgeting
	Able to analyze financial data
	Provide direction on budgeting and related financial decisions
	Good communicator
Please note that the successful candidate must submit a clear police record and a child intervention record prior to the first Board meeting. 
While not mandatory, an understanding of the not-for-profit sector and a commitment to supporting marginalised communities, will be definite assets.
Directors of the Board are elected to a three-year term and are eligible to stand for re-election for subsequent terms.
The Board meets on the second Monday of every other month at 4.30 p.m.   The Directors are also required to be available for any ad-hoc meetings convened by the Board Chair.
