Volunteer Nonprofit Event Planner – Healthy Aligned Living

3-5 hours / monthly
6 months term
Healthy Aligned Living (HAL) is an Edmonton-based registered charity supporting youth, young adults and families through education, prevention, community programming and peer-led initiatives.

We are seeking an experienced and organized Volunteer Nonprofit Event Planner to take a leadership role in planning and coordinating HAL community events, including our annual summer Back-to-School Backpack Event.

This is not simply an event-day volunteer position. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the event planning and coordination process while working within the vision, goals and budget established by HAL leadership.

Responsibilities may include:

• Developing event plans, timelines and schedules
• Venue and site coordination
• Coordinating vendors, entertainment and community partners
• Developing event layouts and operational plans
• Coordinating volunteers and identifying staffing requirements
• Organizing food, equipment and supply requirements
• Assisting with permits, insurance and safety requirements
• Creating event-day schedules and run-of-show plans
• Coordinating setup and teardown
• Developing contingency plans
• Troubleshooting logistical issues
• Providing leadership and coordination on event day
• Communicating regularly with HAL leadership and participating organizations

Experience with nonprofit, charitable, community or youth-focused events is preferred.

Applicants must live in Edmonton or the surrounding area. Some planning tasks may be completed virtually; however, availability for in-person meetings, site visits and event-day responsibilities is required.
