Board Member – Healthy Aligned Living

4-8 hours / monthly
2 years
Healthy Aligned Living (HAL) is a Canadian registered charity seeking committed individuals to join our Board of Directors and help guide the organization through its next stage of growth.

HAL provides trauma-informed, peer-led education, life-skills development, recovery support, and community-based programming that empowers youth, young adults, and families to build healthier, resilient, and self-sufficient lives.

We are looking for Board Members who believe in HAL’s mission and are prepared to contribute their experience, ideas, leadership, and perspective to the organization. Directors will work collaboratively to strengthen HAL’s governance, strategic direction, sustainability, and long-term impact.

Board Members will be asked to commit to a two-year term, allowing time to learn HAL, contribute to strategic planning, and meaningfully participate in the organization’s growth and governance.

This is a meaningful leadership opportunity for individuals who want to contribute to a growing organization and help shape its future while serving the community.
Additional Details & Skills Required
The first few months will focus on orientation, training, and developing a strong understanding of HAL’s mission, programs, partnerships, operations, and community landscape. As the Board becomes established, expectations and time commitments may become more flexible and will be reviewed quarterly. Board Members will then move toward strategic planning, governance, and contributing to HAL’s long-term growth.
Certification or Education Required
No specific certification or education required. Relevant professional, leadership, governance, nonprofit, business, community, or lived experience is considered an asset.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Join HAL’s Board of Directors and play a meaningful role in shaping the future of a growing Canadian registered charity. Gain hands-on governance and strategic planning experience, contribute your knowledge and perspective, build relationships with community leaders and professionals, strengthen your leadership skills, and help expand HAL’s impact for youth, young adults, families, and communities.
