2-3 hours / weekly
-
Healthy Aligned Living is recruiting volunteer facilitators to support a 24 week Anti Racism Workshop Program for youth in Edmonton.

This program is supported by the City of Edmonton Anti Racism Grant and focuses on helping youth explore identity, belonging, discrimination, and how to respond to racism in healthy and constructive ways. The program uses guided discussions, educational activities, and community outings to help youth build confidence, leadership skills, and cultural understanding.

The workshop runs for 24 weeks and is delivered across three youth centres in Edmonton. Each centre hosts an 8 week cycle with weekly sessions on Fridays from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

Volunteer responsibilities include supporting youth discussions, assisting with workshop activities, helping facilitate small group conversations, and supporting community outings that reinforce learning.

Volunteers must be comfortable working with youth ages 14 to 18 and contributing to a respectful and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements
• Criminal record check required
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
• Ability to travel to youth centres within Edmonton
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with youth
• Interest in anti racism education, mentorship, or community leadership
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Volunteers will gain experience facilitating youth workshops, leading conversations about identity and anti racism, and working in community based programming. This is a strong opportunity for students or professionals interested in education, youth work, social justice, community development, or public leadership.
