Grindstone Theatre Society

Grindstone Theatre is a non-profit Edmonton based theatre company established in 2011 by Founder and Artistic Director Byron Martin.

Grindstone Theatre owns and operates its own venue THE GRINDSTONE which is an intimate 75 seat theatre along with a licensed bistro and bar. The venue is home to over thirty local independent artists/producers with fourteen shows per week, shows are on nightly from Tuesday to Sunday.

Grindstone Theatre is most well known for their improvised musical The 11 O’clock Number! but also produces main stage plays and musicals, produces Blackout Sketch Comedy. Grindstone also provides corporate entertainment rental space, runs public classes, offers school workshops, school performances and free monthly events such as The Open Improv Jam.
