Support and Success Womens Circle Volunteer

United for Literacy believes everyone has the right to literacy and education in a positive and safe environment that meets each learner's unique needs. We have been on the front lines of reading help since 1899 and we continue to be an organization that works with and for our community.

United for Literacy is partnering with Nisa Homes to provide a supportive and flexible education program for the families residing there. There will be two "circles" that run simultaneously, one for the adult women and one for the children in the home. 

The program will run: 
FRIDAYS 2:30-4pm

Guided by the needs of the participants, volunteers will work in a group and one on one. 

Focus of adult circle: 
English Language Learning, life skills, and financial literacy

Focus of children's circle:
Mentorship, homework, reading and games

We are looking for enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated volunteers who are interested in benefiting their community. As a volunteer, you will not only provide educational support but also work to foster a safe, non-judgmental learning environment that's built upon relationships.

Our applicant screening process involves an interview, two references (who will be contacted), and a police records check (cost covered by United for Literacy).
