Vehicle Support Drivers
This is a fun volunteer activity being out on the course in and around Strathmore helping at crossings, corners and everywhere in-between. In other words... where the action is! Vehicle Support Drivers will drive the course with riders, promoting and ensuring rider road safety. • Driving your own motor vehicle as participants are riding, you’ll roam the bike course around Strathmore following directions provided by the Course Ops Director • Volunteers will offer encouragement and support to riders along the route or if need be, call for mechanical or medical aid • Decorating your vehicle is encouraged! • This is a great role for one vehicle and several people to do together (please note, each person in a vehicle needs to register on the volunteer portal) Please note: • Safety is paramount for everyone out on the road and it’s necessary for us to provide you with detailed instructions and expectations. • All on course volunteers are required to attend a mandatory safety meeting Friday July 18: 5:00-6:00pm in the Remuda Building at the Strathmore Stampede Grounds (a light supper will be served) or via video call. • At least one volunteer/vehicle is expected to attend the mandatory meeting in person. • You’ll hear how the entire Course team will monitor the roadways, as well as specifics about your volunteer duty. • More details about the meeting will be provided after registration. Please check the Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer website under the 'VOLUNTEER' tab for details, descriptions, and shift times.
