General Volunteer
Edmonton, AB
[map]
Ongoing
We're looking for general volunteers to support our 2026 programming, including our weekly civic exploration labs sessions (Fridays, July 10 to August 28, at Edmonton Public Library, Stanley A. Milner), our Ocean Futures Lab paint night event (June 30), our September cohort retreat and our October showcase exhibition. What you might be doing depends on your interests and availability, and could include: helping with event setup, check-in, and logistics; supporting communications and social media; assisting with the Stories in Public Spaces sticker contest; helping document sessions through photos or notes; and general program and administrative support. This is a flexible, low-pressure way to get involved with a growing grassroots youth organization, meet other community-minded people in Edmonton, and contribute to a program that's making a real difference for young people in our city. No specific experience is required, just enthusiasm and reliability.
Additional Details & Skills Required
Location is partially remote, some tasks (social media, design support, communications) can be done remotely; event-based tasks are in-person at cohort locations.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
You'll gain hands-on experience in event coordination, community programming, and nonprofit operations, plus a behind-the-scenes look at how a grassroots civic organization runs. You'll meet other youth and community members in Edmonton, build your network, and add meaningful volunteer experience to your resume. We're also happy to provide a reference letter for volunteers who contribute regularly.
