Canadian Birkebeiner Society

The Canadian Birkebeiner Society organizes the Canadian Birkie Ski Festival, a celebration of cross country skiing and nordic legends. This 18-day event takes place every February in the Edmonton region. It is Canada’s premier classic-style cross country ski event and one of only three Birkebeiner Loppets in the world. Started in 1985, the Birkie continues the tradition of honouring perseverance, courage and fortitude. There is lots of nordic fun for the whole family!
