Alberta College of Occupational Therapists Volunteer Committee Member

2-3 hours / quarterly
3-year term, renewable
The Alberta College of Occupational Therapists continuing competence program outlines annual requirements for occupational therapists' continuous learning and reflective practice, which are required to maintain ongoing competence. The program includes general requirements and may also include review and evaluations, program measurement and practice visits. The Committee includes occupational therapists and at least one volunteer public member.

Orientation to the Committee and its past work is provided as needed.
Certification or Education Required
Registration in a professional College is desirable but not mandatory. Experience as a patient or family member of a patient in the health care system is desirable.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
The volunteer will help inform the College's continuing competence program policies and procedures, in turn helping to support the public receiving competent and ethical occupational therapy services. The volunteer may be involved in continuing competence program review and evaluations, practice visits and program measurement activities.
