Frontline Volunteer- Daytime Programs
AdaptAbilities is a non profit organization that provides meaningful programs for children, youth, and adults with disabilities across Edmonton and St. Albert. Volunteers play an important role in helping create supportive, inclusive, and engaging environments where participants can build confidence, independence, friendships, and community connection. Working alongside program staff, volunteers will: • Support participants in community based activities • Assist staff in providing care and supervision • Foster positive, inclusive, and meaningful interactions • Help create safe, welcoming, and supportive environments • Encourage independence, skill development, and community participation We are currently recruiting volunteers for our community connect and after school programs which operate year round across multiple locations in Edmonton and St. Albert. Families rely on us for consistent and reliable care, so we are looking for volunteers who are compassionate, dependable, and committed to creating positive experiences for participants. To help provide consistency for participants and families, volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of one shift per week. 🎉 Available Programs 🟣 Community Connect Provides adults ages 20+ with individualized, person centered programming focused on personal strengths, interests, and goals. Participants build confidence and community connection through meaningful activities, volunteerism, recreation, and employment related opportunities. 📅 Monday - Friday ⏰ 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM 🟢 Out of School Care (OSC) & High School Transition (HST) The OSC program supports children and youth ages 12–17 who require additional support after school and may no longer be able to access a daycare. Certification or Education Required
No specific certifications are required. First Aid/CPR or experience working with individuals with disabilities is an asset but not mandatory. Training and orientation are provided to ensure volunteers feel prepared and supported in their role.
