Volunteer for Running Room's Hypothermic Half Marathon
Join AdaptAbilities and the Running Room for one of Edmonton’s most anticipated winter traditions — the Hypothermic Half Marathon! We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to help make race day a success. This fun, high-energy event brings together runners, families, and community members for a morning of fitness and connection. Volunteers will be stationed along the race route to cheer on participants, provide directions, and help ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone. You’ll be an essential part of keeping the race running smoothly while bringing encouragement and excitement to the course. This is a great opportunity to get outdoors, meet new people, and give back to the community in a meaningful way. You’re also welcome to bring a friend or family member with you it’s more fun with company, and you can take turns warming up if the weather’s chilly! As a thank-you, all volunteers are invited to enjoy a complimentary post-race brunch buffet at Highlands Golf Club — the perfect way to warm up and celebrate after the event! You’ll also have the chance to represent AdaptAbilities, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities to grow, succeed and belong. Whether you’re an early riser looking for a one-day volunteer experience or simply want to be part of an iconic local event, this is a rewarding way to spend your Sunday morning making a difference! Date- Sunday, January 25, 2026. Time- 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Location- Highlands Golf Club (6603 Ada Blvd NW, Edmonton, AB T5W 4N5).
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Volunteers will gain hands-on experience in teamwork, communication, and event coordination while supporting a large community race. It’s a great way to build confidence, stay active, and develop leadership skills.
