Open Your Home and Heart: Become a Foster Home for a Future Service Dog

Aspen Service Dogs is seeking compassionate and committed volunteers to foster service dogs in training. As a foster home, you'll play a vital role in the early development of a future service dog, helping to change a life forever. These dogs will ultimately go on to support individuals with autism, mobility, PTSD, and medical response. Or, they may go on to work in schools or hospitals.

What Does a Foster Dog Raiser Do?
You'll provide a safe, loving home for a puppy or young dog while supporting its training and socialization. This includes:
- Attending weekly training classes (offered in Edmonton and surrounding areas)
- Practicing training exercises daily at home and in the community
- Taking the dog on outings to help it gain confidence in real-world situations
- Offering consistent care, structure, and support

What We Provide:
- Training and guidance from experienced instructors
- Food, supplies, veterinary care, and other essentials
- A supportive community of fellow volunteers and staff

What We Need From You:
- A stable home environment with time to dedicate to daily training and outings
- A commitment to fostering for a period ranging from a few months to over a year
- Reliable transportation to attend training sessions and vet visits
- No other untrained dogs in the home

Why It Matters:
By fostering, you’re giving a future service dog the foundation it needs to succeed. Your care helps prepare these incredible animals to assist individuals with disabilities, empowering them to live more independently.
