Located in Sherwood Park - Volunteers make a difference in resident’s lives by providing comfort, companionship and assisting residents during recreation programs such as music, bowling, crib, bingo, fitness, baking, crafts, special events, and much more! Volunteers may work independently or with recreation staff to provide opportunity and support to our Long-Term Care residents. Encouraging resident involvement in recreation programming and individual leisure activities. Volunteers are needed to assist with program set up. Engaging, and assisting residents during programming and portering residents to and from activities. Recreation program follows a monthly recreation activity calendar. Scheduled activities generally happen Monday to Friday during the day. Currently 9/8/23 we do not have recreation lead programs on weekends. Some early evening programs may be available. Qualifications • Enjoys socializing with residents in continuing care • Accepts direction and follows guidelines • Good communication skills and positive attitude. • Ability to porter • Reliable, independent and trustworthy • Ongoing regular daytime volunteers are especially needed
