• Establish rapport with residents while visiting residents along with your well-behaved pet. • Suggested activities may include walking and socializing. • Provide tactile stimulation by encouraging resident to touch pet. • Listen to and provide support to residents. • Report activities, resident participation and concerns to the Coordinator of Volunteer Services/ Recreation Therapist or Therapy Assistants. • Promote a sense of wellbeing and contribute to the morale of the resident. Additional Details & Skills Required
• Strong Social Skills and ability to speak and comprehend English. • Suitable Pet for bringing around visiting residents who show an interest. • Accept direction and with minimal supervision. • Be dependable and committed. • Be friendly and trustworthy. • Able to communicate effectively with residents and staff. • Be mature 17+ and motivated. • Be respectful of others’ views. • Following interview you will be asked to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Police Criminal Records Check
