Event Coordinator

Volunteer Position. Time Commitment: 5-7 hours per week

The Events Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Events Team by assisting with event timelines, coordinating event logistics, and other administrative tasks as needed. This role plays an important part in ensuring events across various species and topics run smoothly, from webinars and workshops to virtual and in-person conferences.


Responsibilities:
- Search for new research in animal behavior and training across a variety of species to help identify potential educators.

- Review educator proposals and submissions to assess their relevance and alignment with event goals.

- Organize and track timelines, deadlines, and other logistical details related to upcoming events.

- Assist with setting up and troubleshooting online event platforms (e.g., ClickMeeting or Zoom) for educators and hosts (training provided).

- Serve as a chat and/or on-screen host during events, and be available for backup hosting support if needed.

- Attend regular team meetings to discuss event progress and tasks.

- Maintain communication with the Events Team through Slack and email.

- Report to the Events Director or another designated team member.


Job Requirements - Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to work independently and take initiative within a remote team environment.

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively and positively with international and diverse teams.

- Familiarity with Slack or willingness to learn and use the platform for team communication.

- Availability to volunteer 5-7 hours per week.
